Tamil Nadu, rich in culture and patriotic outlook, has been an epitome of nationalism. Since time immemorial has been the preserving traditions and customs of our Motherland. The land of valor stands to date as the earliest settlements of human race. From Siddha Saints to today’s technocrats have all contributed to development in all spheres. Agastya to Abdul Kalam have all made significant contribution for the betterment of Mankind. Innumerable sacrifices in the past and in the present for the nation could be seen on various occasions.

  • In the month of October 1949, the same year when ABVP was founded, the Tamilnadu chapter was .
  • Nationwide correspondence course was conducted titled “Bharathi Kaattum Padhai” based on National Poet Bharatiyaar.
  • In 1965 Blood Donation camps were organized in Tanjavoor Medical College in
  • In 1986 a National convention on Srilanka was held in Chennai. Delegates from various organizations and from all quarters attend the program.
  • Social Harmony campaigns are arranged on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
  • An exclusive survey to understand the issue of Female infanticide was conducted in various part of the state and subsequently submitted to the Government. ABVP made an awareness campaign to stop these gruesome practices based on gender bias.
  • The demands were met and the recommendations of ABVP were accepted after a successful campaign to set up a new Law University at Chennai and a University at Salem.
  • In the name of Prof. K.R. Paramasivam, who sacrificed his life for this National cause, since 1998, a medical project to cater for the weaker section of the society is conducted.(continuation)
  • South India Vice Chancellor’s Conference was conducted in VIT Vellore on the topic “Towards Quality and Excellence in Higher Education”. Eminent academicians participated and commendable deliberations were made.
  • An extensive awareness campaign was conducted against the menace of liquor in Tamilnadu. Students travelled across State to various institutions on occasion of a Campaign yathra conducted by ABVP. Thousands of likeminded individuals participated in the protest organized against the state sponsored liquor menace.
